Who we are

MyTbilisi (mytbilisi.ge) is an independent city guide to Tbilisi, Georgia. Contact: info@mytbilisi.ge.

Visit statistics

We count visits with our own, cookie-less statistics: the page you open, the site that sent you, your country and city (estimated from your IP address), device type, browser, screen width and language, and how long a page stays open.

We do not store your IP address and do not use cookies for statistics. To count unique visitors, a one-way code is made from your IP address and browser together with a secret that changes every day, so you cannot be recognised on another day. Location is looked up with the free DB-IP database on our own server.

Saved places

Places you save with ♡ are kept only in your own browser (local storage) and are never sent to us.

Accounts (sign in with Google)

Signing in is optional; the guide works fully without it. If you choose “Continue with Google”, you are sent to Google, which has its own privacy policy, and it tells us your name, email address and profile photo — nothing else. We never see your Google password or other Google data.

We create an account from these details so that your saved routes and trip requests are kept for you on all your devices. Routes you save stay in your browser until you sign in; then they are also stored in your account, and when you sign out they are removed from that browser.

After you sign in, we use one cookie to keep you signed in. It lasts up to 30 days and is removed when you sign out. It is the only cookie we use, and we do not use cookies for statistics or advertising.

You can delete your account at any time on the My Tbilisi page: your account, saved routes and trip requests are then deleted.

“Share your Tbilisi” form

If you send the form, we store your first name, occupation, the text you wrote, your favourite places and — only if you give it — your email address. Your first name, occupation and text may be published on the Locals page after review. Your email is never published or shared and is used only to contact you about your entry.

To change or delete your entry, write to info@mytbilisi.ge.

“Plan my trip” requests

If you use the trip questionnaire, we store your answers (destination, dates, interests, budget, who is travelling, preferences and anything you write), your name and your email address in a database on our own server. A person reads every request.

To prepare a plan, a language model that runs on our own servers (not an outside AI service) drafts it from the places listed on this site, and a person checks it before it is emailed to you. We use your email only to confirm your request, to send you the plan and to answer you about it — never for advertising, and we do not share it.

We keep a request for up to 12 months and then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner (see “Data deletion”).

Newsletter

If you leave your email address in the footer form, we store it on our own server to let you know about new content on MyTbilisi. We do not share it. To be removed, write to us.

Email

Messages you send us are stored on our own mail server and used only to reply to you.

Maps, live data and other services

Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap; places to eat nearby from OpenStreetMap; weather from Open-Meteo; exchange rates from the National Bank of Georgia; live transport from Tbilisi Transport Company; the afisha from TKT.ge. When a page shows this information, your browser or our server contacts those services. Ticket and map links take you to other sites with their own privacy policies.

Social media

We post on our Telegram channel and Facebook page using content that is already on this site. Our apps on these platforms only publish to our own channel and page; they do not collect data about you.

Data deletion

Accounts exist only if you sign in with Google, and you can delete yours yourself on the My Tbilisi page. Visit statistics are kept for up to 13 months and cannot be linked to a person. “Plan my trip” requests are deleted after 12 months. To delete a “Share your Tbilisi” entry, a trip request, your newsletter address or any other data you sent us, email info@mytbilisi.ge and we will remove it within 30 days. Our backups are overwritten within 60 days, so a deleted item is gone from them by then.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
