I’m a software developer based in Tbilisi. I studied Applied Mathematics and Computer Sciences at Tbilisi State University (1997–2001) and have spent more than 25 years building software in this city.
Among other things, I designed and built two national systems that Georgia still runs on — the electronic prescription system (eprescription.moh.gov.ge) and the electronic health records system (ehr.moh.gov.ge). Since 2020 I have worked on enterprise systems at Telasi, the company that supplies electricity to Tbilisi, and since 2024 I also develop internal systems for the travel company Concord Travel.
MyTbilisi brings those two worlds together: a local’s knowledge of the city and the engineering to connect a guide to live data — buses, metro, traffic, weather, exchange rates and what’s on tonight.
Why MyTbilisi exists
The practical things a visitor needs in Tbilisi — which bus to take, whether a sight is open, what is on this weekend, today’s exchange rate — are scattered across many sources, change often and are frequently available only in Georgian. MyTbilisi puts them in one place, in two languages, and keeps them current.
How information is checked
Places are re-checked regularly, and changes such as closures (for example, the Narikala Fortress restoration) are added to the place page as soon as they are confirmed; a re-checked page shows the date it was last verified.
Events are collected every morning from official organisers and ticket sites and are reviewed before they appear on the site. Some drafts — event listings and story ideas — are prepared with the help of automated tools and AI; nothing is published without an editor’s review.
Live information comes straight from its source: departures and bus positions from Tbilisi Transport Company, exchange rates from the National Bank of Georgia, weather from Open-Meteo. Live traffic is calculated from how fast city buses are actually moving.
Independence
MyTbilisi is independent. Nobody pays to be listed, there are no sponsored places and no affiliate links: recommendations are chosen because they are good, not because of a commission.
